I am a contemporary artist in Massachusetts, recognized as a signature member of the National Association of Women Artists (NAWA) and an active member of the New England Art Center (NEAC) and TAG The Art Gallery in SoWa, Boston's vibrant Art + Design District. My paintings have been showcased internationally, in galleries, stores, restaurants, hospitals, private collections, libraries, offices, and online platforms such as 1stDibs and Artsy.
I am also the author of the Cooper the Dog children's book series, an attorney, and a mother of five.
Painting is my meditation, a practice born from grief and transformed into a path of healing. The loss of my brother ignited a deep need to create art, not for the finished product, but for the healing power of the process itself.
Each artistic approach I choose aligns with a specific phase of my journey through grief. Consumed by anger in the beginning, I found release in throwing paint and embracing the raw, messy chaos of my emotions. As the anger gave way to a yearning for connection, I turned to free-flowing lyrical painting, allowing my soul to reach out to his in unguarded expression. When sadness overwhelms me, I ground myself by crafting geometric abstracts and landscapes, their structured precision offering focus and quieting my mind. The act of painting, paired with the energy of vibrant colors, uplifts my spirit and fosters a more optimistic outlook.
I am particularly drawn to circles, a powerful symbol of renewal and continuity. To me, each revolution of the circle reflects the cycles of life—our challenges, missteps, and triumphs. These cycles offer endless opportunities for growth, understanding, and revitalization. With their infinite, unbroken form, they also stand as a reminder that the soul endures, even after the body is gone.
